New Zealand Wars Animation

Last week I posted my script, but I have finally completed my animation with my buddy Muscles. It has been recorded using screencastify. I enjoyed recording it with my buddy because we had fun reenacting the characters. Next time I want to find another site to use because in my opinion it’s too chunky to animate depending on how good your WiFi is. But here is the animation. Bye.

Southern Cultural Festival

Last week on Friday the kapa haka roopu participated in the Southern Cultural Festival in Kawakawa. We performed to the audience our small bracket that we created in two weeks. We practiced hard for about a week before the festival. I enjoyed performing what we learnt and had been training for to others. I also enjoyed watching the other groups to see what they did well. I hope we perform more in the future because we are representing our tutors and what they have been teaching us.

Southern Cultural Festival in Kawakawa

Since last week in Te Ngahere the Kapa Haka roopu have been training for the Southern Cultural Festival in Kawakawa. We have been practising every morning tea and lunch times for the festival. Before, we went to the Te Tai Tokerau Festival in Whangarei. We went to the festival to learn new things that we saw when the groups performed. We are trying to use that and bring it to our kapa haka roopu. We only have 3 more days to practise until we go perform at the festival. I enjoy doing this because it is a good learning opportunity for us to learn more and perform what we have learnt towards others. In Kapa Haka I’m focusing on emphasizing my actions and pronouncing the kupu correctly. Later.

Visual Pepeha

In Te Ngahere we have been revising our Pepeha. We have been learning how to say and read our Pepeha confidently. The purpose of learning our Pepeha is to know the tikanga behind it. I really enjoyed revisiting and learning my Pepeha. We were learning to introduce ourselves and our whanau as well.

Visual Mihi

During the week we have been understanding our morning mihi. We had to manage ourselves into groups of three to practise the mihi in front of each other. Once we did that we had to create a google drawing to remind us about what the mihi means with images. These images help us to remember the morning mihi if we ever forget it. I chose these images because it reminds me about what the mihi means and what it is about. Every single image is representing a part of the mihi. What we were trying to learn is understanding the mihi.
